چکیده
The sequence of the coastal siliciclastic facies Paleocene-Eocene Zagros Foreland Basin is well exposed in Chwarta-Mawat area, north Sulaimani Governorate, northeastern Iraq. According to previous studies, this designated as Red Beds Series (RBS), consisting more than 2000 m fine and coarse red grey clastics. present study found recently recognized lithologies (RRLs) about 100 thick inside series encompassed green marlstone with subsidiary detrital limestone which has significant tectonic paleogeographic results. petrography, biostratigraphy, boundary conditions studies are applied uncover their origin. new deposited subsiding basin Imbricate Zone during Middle Eocene. During age, Tertiary was separated by a paleohigh into two basins, (northern southern basins). In northern basin, RRLs have deep Naopurdan Formation while Pila Spi lagoonal facies. former formation reefal shelf area northeast Chawrta Mawat Towns. RRLs, units one (in Thrust Zone) correlated respectively Spi, Sinjar Gercus formations High Folded Zone. These correlations shown on stratigraphic columns models aid nannofossil benthonic foraminiferal studies. This most important step for solving setting Iraq better understanding Collisional belt.

The Asinawa iron ore is located about 3km to the southeast of Penjween town, Sulaimaniya Governorate, Kurdistan Region, Northeastern Iraq near the Iraq-Iran border. The exposed iron ore deposit is about 60 and 400m wide and long respectively. The present study is the re-study of the geology and geochemistry of the Asnawan Iron ore deposit and concluded that the country rocks are consist of ...
متن کاملImproving Lithological Mapping by SVM Classification of Spectral and Morphological Features: The Discovery of a New Chromite Body in the Mawat Ophiolite Complex (Kurdistan, NE Iraq)
The mineral ore potential of many mountainous regions of the world, like the Kurdistan region of Iraq, remains unexplored. For logistical and sometimes political reasons, these areas are difficult to map using traditional methods. We highlight the improvement in remote sensing geological mapping that arises from the integration of geomorphic features in classifications. The Mawat Ophiolite Comp...
متن کاملAcademic development for urologists in the Kurdistan region of Iraq
OBJECTIVES Continuous education is mandatory for all urologists, and undertaking cooperative research is a very effective means for this. We describe the experience and possibilities for continuing education for urologists in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. We hope to provide a framework for stimulating urological education and research in other countries where urologists face the same obstacles....
متن کاملTectonical history of Arabian platform during Late Cretaceous An example from Kurdistan region, NE Iraq
New simplified tectonic models and depositional history of Late Cretaceous rocks are established in a part of Zagros Orogenic Belt that is located in the Northeastern Iraq. These rocks constutes the most important Cretaceous oil reservoir in the Middle East. The dependent tools are petrography, field study and the concept of drowning phases. This concept is relatively new and accurate in explan...
